Here we see the main entrance door to the The Parish House Condominiums located at 39 1/2 Maryland Avenue and the corner of Prince George Street in Annapolis. This historic building was constructed in the Gothic Revival style during the later part of the 1800′s for the Maryland Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church. The building’s history also includes being used as a religious oriented recreation center that was frequented by both midshipmen and members of the military serving at the United States Naval Academy. Before it’s conversion to residential and office use in the middle of the last decade the building served as congregational meeting location for the First Church of Christ Scientist.

Mr. John Pilli, Jr., of Pilli Development Company, led the project that converted this church structure to mixed business & residential usage.

This Post was updated on January 22nd 2012:

We would like to thank the Auletta’s, current residents of the The Parish House Condominiums, for sharing with us additional information about the individual units vertical floor plan layout and Mr. Pilli’s current relationship to the building.

Today the building includes both commercial offices and three residences each of which has a presence on four floors within the church. The Auletta’s unit includes the bell tower affording them a view of the Maryland State House.

Have a great Friday,

Glenn

Wonderful photograph. We live in this building and are also on the Board. Just one correction…Mr. Pilli does not own or live in any part of this building. The 3 residential units are all 4 stories so each of us has a part of the top floor. Our condo, facing the State House, includes the bell tower. Thanks for the photo!
