Early Morning Autumn Scenes

Fallen Autumn Leaves on the Northeast Grounds at the Maryland State House at Sunrise in Annapolis November 6th 2016

Returning to the Maryland State House, so as to checkout the autumn foliage, it seems that the seasonal scenery remains a bit confusing to say the least. Sadly, and as an aside, one nice mature oak tree that previously stood on the north side of the capital grounds was cut down this week. So I must assume that it was due to it having been rotted out or diseased to a large degree. This I believe makes for two large trees that have been taken down this year on the grounds of the State House, the other one having been located near the Old Treasury Building.

In any event in the photograph above the leaves continue to fall along the grounds of the State House these days such as those seen strewn about in this bedding area on the far northeast side.

This setting shows a row of lamp posts stretched along the East Portico walkway that also depicts the still confusing state of the foliage located around the State House on this autumn morning.

A Seemingly Shunned View of the Roger Brooke Taney Statue at the Maryland State House at Early Morning in Annapolis November 6th 2016

Finally today this photograph of the publicly vilified statue of Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Brooke Taney (Scott please remember that it is pronounced Tawney) is seen from let’s say a shunned, or back, perspective with the front of it facing into the morning sunlight. While the oak tree leaves in the foreground remain green most of the maple trees flanking it have already lost their foliage, while other trees set further out seem in the midst of their golden hue seasonal transformation.

All in all the morning turned out just fine for this photographer since immediately afterwards I came to take a seat on a nearby iron bench. Upon having done so I proceeded to enjoy my coffee while also taking in the sounds of the nearby church bells, as well as the morning sunlight, from my location on this historic hill overlooking downtown Annapolis.

Have a pleasant afternoon,

Glenn
