An Interpretive Shape Along the Sidewalk

Yard Art and if not I was Somewhat Stumped this Morning in the Murray Hill Neighborhood of Annapolis Maryland June 7th 2017

I’ll have to admit that upon coming across this seemingly petrified tree stump this morning, on my walk in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Annapolis, I was a bit befuddled as to the reason for it having been placed there.

For you see the ground bed between the sidewalk and the exterior side wall of the house where its located is at best two feet deep. Was the stump, before it had been cut years ago, actually located in the afore mentioned planting bed, itself being part of a then healthy tree? Perhaps. Or had it been located nearby and was placed at this spot so as to convey a natural decorative effect? That is certainly more likely was my thought at the time.

In any case it does make for an interesting statement to those passing by it so I’ll simply take it to be a piece of natural yard art conceived by a creative property owner. Oh and its singular shape, well that itself gives rise to a multitude of interpretations.

Have a pleasant afternoon,

Glenn
