Catching sight of this reproduction Chippendale style garden footbridge earlier in the day served to remind me of Mrs. Anne St. Claire Wright’s many contributions in both preserving as well as reclaiming historical sites and architecture in Annapolis Maryland over the years.

It is believed that William Paca had two springhouses built in the lower section of his City estate’s garden in the 18th century, one of which provided water for his extensive collection of plants and bushes, while the second served as a bath house.
